Whundas, Cavaliers earn upset wins in 2A field

The quarter-final round is set after an action-packed opening day at the 2026 BC School Sports Girls Basketball Provincial Championships at Langley Events Centre.

Sixty-four teams — split into four 16-team tournaments — tipped off Wednesday, with upsets shaking up each division.


2A Tournament

The top half of the draw saw two upsets, while the bottom half held to form.
Quarter-final action:

  • Holy Cross Crusaders (Surrey, #1) vs. Collingwood Cavaliers (West Vancouver, #9)
  • Westsyde Whundas (Kamloops, #13) vs. Pacific Christian Pacers (Victoria, #5)
  • Credo Christian Kodiaks (Township of Langley, #2) vs. J.L. Jackson Jays (Salmon Arm, #7)
  • St. Thomas More Knights (Burnaby, #3) vs. Pacific Academy Breakers (Surrey, #6)

First game tips at 1:45 p.m. on the Fieldhouse Court.
