Dover Bay locked in as top seed for 4A Tournament

The Dover Bay Dolphins won silver in 2025 and enter the 2026 BC School Sports 4A Boys Basketball Provincial Tournament seeded No. 1 Garrett James

The path to provincial glory is locked in.

The St. John’s School Eagles (1A), Notre Dame Jugglers (2A), St. Patrick Celtics (3A) and Dover Bay Dolphins (4A) enter the 2026 BC School Sports Boys Basketball Provincial Championships as the No. 1 seeds in their respective tiers.

The first three teams are all Vancouver schools while Dover Bay is in Nanaimo.

The official draws were released today (March 1) for the four-day championship tournament set for March 4-7 at Langley Events Centre. The event will showcase 64 teams, 128 games and four provincial champions crowned across the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A divisions.


Nanaimo’s Dover Bay Dolphins – who have played in a championship final the past three years, winning the 3A title in 2024 – are ranked first heading into the 4A Tournament. The Vancouver College Fighting Irish, Tamanawis Wildcats (Surrey) and Kelowna Owls complete the rest of the top four.

The remaining teams in the field (in alphabetical order): Centennial Centaurs (Coquitlam), G.W. Graham Grizzlies (Chilliwack), Holy Cross Crusaders (Surrey), North Peace Grizzlies (Fort St. John), Kitsilano Blue Demons, New Westminster Hyacks, Oak Bay Bays (Victoria), Panorama Ridge Thunder (Surrey), Semiahmoo Thunderbirds (Surrey), St. George’s School Saints (Vancouver), Terry Fox Ravens (Port Coquitlam) and Yale Lions (Abbotsford).
