Rockets put unbeaten season on the line in championship tilt against Breakers

The Summerland Rockets will put their undefeated season on the line as they battle the Pacific Academy Breakers in the finals of the BC School Sports 2A Boys Basketball Provincial Tournament. The championship game gets underway at 2:45 p.m.

#1 Pacific Academy Breakers 71 #4 Westsyde Whundas 66

Despite trailing for more than half the game, the Pacific Academy Breakers rallied, defeating the Westsyde Whundas 71-66. The Breakers – the No. 1 seed from Surrey – were led by 28 points and 11 rebounds from Adriel Bouguep and another 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists from Judah Ashbee.

The Whundas’ Cason Scott had 21 while Kiyo Brown had 18.

#2 Summerland Rockets 79 #3 Collingwood Cavaliers 76

Desmond Duchek (29 points) and Mateo Duchek (22 points) combined for 51 as the Summerland Rockets denied the Collingwood Cavaliers an opportunity to win a second straight championship with a 79-76 victory.

 

Desmond Duchek added 24 rebounds and six assists. Sam Li led the Cavaliers with 19 points while Tony Li scored 17.
