All-Vancouver Island championship final for 4A crown

It will be an all-Vancouver Island championship final pitting the top two teams against one another. The No. 1 seed Spectrum Thunder (Victoria) will take on the No. 2 Dover Bay Dolphins (Nanaimo) to cap off the 4A Tournament when they take the Langley Events Centre floor at 7:45 p.m.

#1 Spectrum Thunder 81 #5 St. George’s School Saints 79

The defending champion Spectrum Thunder are back in the championship game. The Victoria school – who entered as the No. 1 seed – survived a 53-point game from St. George’s School Saints’ Dorian Glogovac. Glogovac also had 14 rebounds and four assists. J Elijah Helman was the top scorer for Spectrum with 32 points while Tyler Felt had 26.

#2 Dover Bay Dolphins 92 #6 Terry Fox Ravens 64

Five 3-pointers from Van Suiter and another four from Evan Slater helped the Dover Bay Dolphins advance to the championship game thanks to a 92-64 win over the Terry Fox Ravens.

 

Frank Linder stuffed the stat sheet with 24 points, 20 rebounds, eight blocked shots and four assists while Joe Linder added 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Suiter finished with 19 and Slater had 14 for Dover Bay. Jayson Ikani’s 19 points were tops for the sixth-seed Ravens.
