Township of Langley, BC (February 27, 2017) Day three action was underway in the Langley Events Centre and much like the first two days, it did not disappoint.

The third day of the Junior Boys Tournament featured 16-games on Monday.  The two most prominent were #2 Sir Charles Tupper taking on #11 North Delta and #4 West Vancouver taking on #8 Burnaby South.

From the begin of the game, Sir Charles Tupper took it to North Delta and proved why they were the second-best ranked team in the province. Tupper would go on to cruise to a 66-53 victory.

“We were really prepared for this team, it is our third time playing them and we have lost both times and we really wanted to beat them,” said Sir Charles Tupper Head Coach Ron Quillo. “Today meant a lot to us, we have been number one and number two all year and our guys came prepared. Norben (Bulosan) went off for seven threes, our defence stopped them when we need them to and the intensity was really there for us.”

In the other Final Four game, Burnaby South may have been outranked heading into the game but on the court, they were the better team for four quarters as they handed West Vancouver their first loss of the tournament with a 67-47 score.

“When we saw West Van in the District semi-finals, they gave it to us pretty good on man-to-man defence,” said Burnaby South Head Coach Cody Cormack. “We ended up coming up a little short and they got the red banner but we came into this one looking for some retribution and we got it. The boys are excited and I could not be more proud of these guys.”

The 48th annual Championship game will take place on Tuesday, February 28th at 6:00pm on the South Court between #2 Sir Charles Tupper and #8 Burnaby South inside the Langley Events Centre.

Meanwhile, West Vancouver and North Delta will compete against each other for third and fourth place at 4:30pm also on the South Court.
