Dates Announced for 2016 BC High School Basketball Championships

(Township of Langley, BC – UPDATED November 1, 2015) – Following the success of the 2015 BC High School Basketball Championships, the BC Secondary School Girls Basketball Association and the BC High School Boys Basketball Association have confirmed the dates for the 2016 events happening at the Langley Events Centre in the Township of Langley.

The girls’ tournaments will start the action with game play commencing on Wednesday, March 2. The Championship games will take place on Saturday, March 5.

“We are extremely excited to be hosting our Championships at the LEC again in 2016,” BC Secondary School Girls Basketball Association President Brett Westcott said.

The boys’ tournaments will get underway the following week with all four tiers of senior boys’ basketball running from Wednesday, March 9 to Saturday, March 12.

BC High School Boys Basketball Association President Paul Eberhardt was also excited about next year’s event,

“The opportunity to host all four tiers of senior boys’ basketball was something that worked out very well in 2015 and is something we are excited about being able to do again in 2016.”

The 2016 TELUS Junior Boys Basketball Provincial Basketball Championships will also again be hosted at the Langley Events Centre from February 27 to March 1.

TELUS has been a supporter since 2006.
