Brentwood College back in championship game, face Cavaliers this time around

It will be a battle of the third-seed Collingwood Cavaliers against No. 4 Brentwood College in the gold-medal game for the BC School Sports 2A Boys Basketball Provincial Championships on Saturday (March 9) at Langley Events Centre. The game tips off at 2:45pm in the Arena Bowl.

#4 Brentwood College 72 #8 Langley Christian Lightning 65

Down two points heading into the fourth quarter, Brentwood College scored 27 points in the final 10 minutes to defeat the Langley Christian Lightning 72-65 and make a return to the championship game. The game was fairly evenly split as the Lightning led for 18:06 while Brentwood College was ahead for 17:07. Julian Bishop led Brentwood College with 21 points, Milan Pasquale added 17 and Jackson Lenarcic chipped in 14. Casey Van Hemert scored 19 to lead the Lightning while Carter Van der Waarde added 18.

#3 Collingwood Cavaliers 74 #2 Pacific Academy Breakers 68

A 10-0 fourth-quarter run put the Collingwood Cavaliers ahead for good, as they held off the Pacific Academy Breakers 73-68. Amir Mojarradi had 22 points in the win with James Holm adding 18. Jaden Mesfin’s 23 were tops for the Breakers.
