#8 WINS THE AAA CHAMPIONSHIP

Township of Langley, BC (Saturday, March 4, 2017) The 2017 BC Secondary School AAA Girls Championship was won by the #8 seed in the tournament Saturday night.

Lord Tweedsmuir went on to open the tournament by defeating #9 R.A McMath and then went on a tear defeated top-seed after top-seed. On Thursday, they upset #1 Oak Bay, on Friday they advanced passed #5 Panorama Ridge and finally on Saturday they beat #2 Abbotsford to capture the provincial championship.

“Right now, it is just absolute excitement for my team and the parents, all the hard work over the last five years and now we have the school’s first provincial AAA championship,” said Head Coach McCrae. “We had kids that were committed, kids who went into the gym, buying in to the system and program and the girls having the will and determination. It all came down to hard work.”
