JUNIOR GIRLS TOP THREE SEEDS WIN

Township of Langley, BC (February 25, 2017) The 2017 Telus Junior Girls Provincial Basketball Invitational Tournament kicked off on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. The tournament featured 16 teams attempting to make their way into the secondary tier. 

Top teams #1 Kelowna, #2 St. Thomas Aquinas, #3 Royal Bay, #4 Whistler, #5 Penticton, #6 Little Flower Academy, #7 Earl Marriott, and #8 Langley Christian all had byes in the tournament until later in the day.  

Of the top seeds, only Kelowna, Little Flower Academy and St. Thomas were able to stay in the winner’s bracket.

“It was a terrific opening day at the Championships. I love going from gym-to-gym and see the fans just as much as they players,” said Howard Tsumura. “Everyone is so invested in their teams and the journey they have taken to get here today.”
